December 1, 2025 – National Day of Romania

Romania’s National Day is celebrated on December 1. This date, established by a law promulgated in 1990, marks an important moment in Romanian history: the Great National Assembly of Alba Iulia voted for the union of Transylvania with Romania in 1918.

Every year, this event is commemorated in the town of Murfatlar through a military and religious ceremony held at the Monument to the Heroes who fell in the First and Second World Wars.

In the presence of citizens and local officials, the ceremony concludes with a wreath-laying tribute and a military parade performed by the honor guard.

Organizers: Murfatlar City Hall, Murfatlar Army Garrison

Participants: 5,000 people
